She fell in love with American Tribal Style® Belly Dance in 1999.  Particularly appealing about the ATS® format for Raven was the group dynamics, beautiful costuming, and improvisational style.  Raven has taken extensive workshops, intensives, teacher trainings, and master classes with Carolena Nericcio, the creator of ATS® and founder of FatChanceBellyDance®. She started teaching ATS® classes in Las Vegas in 2008.  In March of 2009 she earned Sister Studio status with the FatChanceBellyDance® Studio and has been dedicated in maintaining the ATS format as created by Carolena. She continues to study with her mentor and the FatChanceBellyDance teachers in order to continue to grow with this ever-evolving art form.

Raven has adopted a philosophy of “living ATS.” Commitment, teamwork, knowing when to be a leader and when to be a follower, creativity, patience and sisterhood are all elements in ATS which she feels are applicable to her daily life.  It was within that context that in June 2009 she created Kumuda Tribal, Las Vegas' premier ATS dance troupe.  They perform at local and national events in the spirit of sisterhood, love and respect for each other and the dance.

Adding to her deep love of group improvisational dance, Raven has added ITS (Improvisation Tribal Style) which was created by Amy Sigil of UNMATA to her improvisational repetoire.  After a couple of years of intense study, she earned her Level 1 ITS Certified Teacher credential in March 2016 and is dedicated to maintaining the integrity of this energetic improvisational dance discipline.
